It's not all hand-made exoticism around here, and my love of the sublime should certainly never be confused with snobbery. A good case in point would be my guilty pleasure fondness for the Danelectro company, and indeed an abiding appreciation for all things weird in the electric guitar department. If it's made of formica, reso-glass or clear perspex rather than feather-light swamp ash or Cuban Mahogany it doesn't matter. There's a good chance I'll find something to love about it.
I recently reviewed Danelectro's new "Billionaire" line of pedals. If Danelectro's marketing is to be believed, these pedals would appear to be the perfect accompaniment to a wardrobe full of bespoke Cifonelli suits, an Andreas Strehler Sauterelle à Lune Perpétuelle (to my mind the most beautiful timepiece ever made) a Bugatti Chiron (why stop at one?), a pair of hand-patina Berluti shoes etc etc
What Danelectro have actually achieved here is a series of very cool pedals that don't cost a huge amount of cash. In fact you could buy the entire range twice for the street price of a Klon Centaur.
Which is nice.
Anyway, read the review and have a look for yourself.
