THE BLUE GUITARS

The Blue Guitar Collection - originally commissioned by the late Scott Chinery in the 1990s - stands as one of the most culturally significant collections of handmade musical instruments in the world.

The collection is a tribute to the masterful archtop luthier Jimmy D'Aquisto whose Blue Centura had been the inspiration behind the concept of a group of guitars from the finest builders alive at the time - given free creative reign - aside from some universal specifications - they just had to be blue.

It was an honour to be invited to document this unique collection of superb guitars by The Archtop Foundation - some of my work with the guitars is here - the greater part can be found on the Archtop Foundation Website.
